There are other methods of hydro as well but DWC is most straight forward and I feel would be best in this comparison.
I have been pleased with the technique but there has been a learning curve, no question.
One thing you don't want to do is try something too difficult for your experience level, it will cause you bigtime stress and dissolution. In my first couple of vertical grows I hand watered this first, just could not keep enough solution for the plants hand watering.

Theres a llot more to hydro then there is to soil, But coco is a form of hydro so your already kinda started there.. Nutrition facts displayed here and on wrapper may differ. That said, good luck!..

You are saying even that much is difficult with coco? The proper mix will make and keep the plant vital and strong throughout this phase.
Even if over-watered your plants will still survive. This will vary depending on pot size, lights used, room temps, ect.
GR So many growers are stuck with thier way of growing and these ideas set in stone in the head about what is "the best".
That's all I'm saying. Especially with this very hit weather we are having thus Summer, I wake up and put a heaping tablespoon of this powder in a glass of Mango or Papaya Juice and for a extra treat after a long day I make a Slushy adding an extra tablespoon of the Coco powder for a more coconuty flavor.
NextYour idea of a "to waste" system with very little "waste" is a good one, and has me thinking.
This could have been disastrous to me! I have experienced less margin for error when growing with hydro than growing with coco too. Separately and then weave them together for your grow to fit your needs in your enviornment.
NextNot sure what is in this, but do not trust!!! Coir holds a considerable amount of water within.
